Attention Artists! Here's your chance to apply for free studio space at the historic Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, worth $24,000. With the support of Baltimore philanthropists Eddie and Sylvia Brown, one studio in the building, the Brown Studio, is offered free of charge to an emerging visual artist for a period of two years.

The Brown Studio, offered only as a work space, is located on the building's second floor and features large windows and 360 sq. feet of space. The building amenities include high speed Internet access, 24-hour secure access, and year-round climate control.

The Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower is located at 21 South Eutaw Street.

Applicants for the Brown Studio must be able to demonstrate an established artistic practice by presenting a CD of representative work and a resume. In addition, applicants must submit a completed application and a $25 non-refundable application fee.

The application for the Brown Studio at the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower is due on Friday, October 9, 2009. The Brown artist will be announced on October 30, 2009. The tenancy will begin on or about December 1, 2009, and conclude on November 30, 2011.

The applications will be reviewed by an independent jury.

High Zero THIS Weekend!


Hey everybody,

This weekend is the High Zero festival. The country's only experimental, improvised music festival is to be held at The Theatre Project this weekend (sept. 10- 13). Performances start each night (Thursday thru Sunday) at 8pm and there is a special matinee performance at 2pm on Saturday. This music is sure to blow your mind!
